The origami crane is a symbol of peace and a universal sign of good luck. It’s also one of the oldest origami designs out there. Follow these steps to make an origami crane:

1) Start with a square piece of paper, colored side down. Fold it in half diagonally, both ways.

2) Fold the top corner down to the bottom corner to form a triangle. Unfold.

3) With the paper still opened in half, fold both sides inward to meet at the center. Make sure all creases are nice and sharp!

4) Fold one side of the triangle downward until it meets the bottom edge of the paper. Repeat on the other side.

5) Now open the top of your origami crane by pulling at both wings.

6) Turn your origami bird upside down so that it looks like it’s in flight!

2. Origami dove

1) Start with a square piece of paper, colored side down. Fold it in half diagonally twice. Make sure your creases are sharp!

2) Fold the top corner downward to meet the bottom corner. Unfold.

3) Fold both sides of the square inward to meet at the center, forming a diamond shape.

4) Fold one side of the origami bird downward until it meets the paper’s edge. Repeat on the other side.

5) Open up your origami dove by pulling at the wings!

3. Origami loon

The origami loon is a beautiful origami creation that’s also easy to make! Follow these simple steps:

1) Start with a square piece of paper, colored side down. Fold the left and right corners to meet at the center.

2) Fold the top of your origami loon down to the bottom, forming a mountain fold. Unfold.

3) Fold one side of origami bird downward until it meets the paper’s edge while simultaneously folding the other side inward.

4) Your origami loon should now look like an origami diamond with a little origami bird coming out of it! Unfold.

5) Fold both sides inward to meet at the center, one on top of the origami diamond and one underneath. Repeat on the other side.

6) Your origami loon should now look like a origami diamond with two origami tails coming out of it!

4. Origami cardinal

The origami cardinal is a beautiful origami bird that’s easy to fold with just one piece of paper! Here’s what you’ll need:

1) Start with a square piece of origami paper, colored side down. Make two cuts on the top and bottom lines of your origami paper, leaving about a centimeter uncut.

2) Fold origami bird from one side to the other, just enough so that it’s a little see-through. Unfold.

3) Inside each origami wing, make two cuts along the origami lines just inside of your origami folds. Be gentle!

4) Now fold origami bird from one side to the other, folding origami wings in and origami tail out. Your origami cardinal should look like origami diamond with origami tails coming out of it!
